Rights Respecting Schools

The Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA) recognises achievement in putting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) at the heart of a school’s planning, policies, practice and ethos. We were awarded a Recognition of Commitment certificate in September 2014 and our Level 1 Award in December 2014.

At Laurencekirk we aim not only to teach about children’s rights but to model rights and respect in all our relationships: between teachers / adults and pupils, between adults and between pupils.

We constantly review all that we do and consider everybody’s basic rights. We also regularly discuss world issues and raise money to help support rights across the globe.
