Learning

We believe in promotion of a curriculum of personalisation. This has to be within the limitations of Curriculum for Excellence and as such we use carefully selected Experience and Outcomes to ensure progression, pace and challenge for your child.

The undernote documents are used to help your child plan the theme they wish to explore.

Our skilled teachers use the ideas from the children, along with the Experiences and Outcomes below to ensure that learning is progressive. Caution should be taken when looking at these plans as teachers may be working from more than one plan. The stages shown are only there as guidance and if professional judgement shows that children may benefit from earlier or later Experiences and Outcomes then this will be supported.

The Health, Maths and Literacy documents show that we intend to regularly visit all experiences and outcomes in a level each year, keeping learning fresh and deep.  Again, children do not fit into stages (other than by age) and our experienced teachers will often be seen working across more than one level.

These documents were introduced as a trial in August 2017 and are being continually evaluated.
